Elegant, multicolor letterpress. The artistry with which the ink is pressed into the paper creates a 3-dimensional effect that is difficult to show on a computer screen.
Smudge Ink is a design company and working letterpress studio run by Kate Saliba and Deb Bastien. Smudge Ink is located in a renovated textile factory on the Mystic River in the historic Charlestown section of Boston, MA. Originally focused on exquisite, colorful letterpress-printed greeting cards and custom invitations, Smudge Ink’s product line has expanded to include offset-printed cards, calendars and gift wrap.
Environment: Smudge Ink uses soy inks and between 30-100% post-consumer recycled paper. Much of the power used for its presses is wind generated. The studio takes pride in recycling and reusing almost everything employed to create it products.
